Words by, Christina Rossetti (1830-1894)
Written for the Rhythm of Life Community Chorus in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, this piece sets the work of English poet, Christina Rossetti (1830-1894). On its surface, the poem extolls the beauty that comes from the winter rains. A deeper look at the poetry can show the value of nurturing of friendships and the importance of the relationships that evolve. I picked this particular poem to set for RoLCC during their first season because it embodied the beautiful spirit of the choir.
